In its short-sightedness, blogger has turned its back on those of us stuck with old operating systems and I'm forced to find a new blog host. You will now find MickMathersARTblog at Blog.com - use the direct link found in the masthead and remember to update your bookmarks. This place will continue as another archive for a large body of my work. As many of you know, my primary medium and working method is digital collage composed of manipulated photographs often combined with digital drawing & generative images. Netlabels, bands and musicians can view samples of my CD Cover Art at Mick Mather Illustration located on Tumblr. In another life I was an Arts & Culture consultant specializing in revitalization planning through creative public art projects and programs with Economic & Community Development Departments of towns, villages and cities. In these hard financial times this work is more important than ever and I still accept consultancy inquiries. You can contact me by email at: mickmather@yahoo.com

It's interesting, I wonder the same...

Whoa! The gay version of Connie's hit ... it's very strange to listen to. :O
I just adore The Czars and especially the singer John Grant. He tours alone nowadays since the band doesn't play any more.
I saw him in Helsinki in October.
Sorry I Made You Cry is a CD by The Czars, they play covers, like this Connie's song. Listen to the CD on Youtube, there are many beautiful, acoustic songs.

It's always a treat to get information about an artist I've never heard of. Thank you, Susu.
In case I didn't mention it before, I'm sure you'll love this old Patti Page chestnut, Old Cape Cod. There's a remastered version of this with some of the lushest background harmonies I've ever heard that you can quite likely download or listen to online with a good search. The same goes for Groove Armada's trip-pop acid-jazz spine-tingler By The River that does a perfect job of mixing in a sampled Patti singing "Old Cape Cod" ... you're going to love this, rack it back!
Patti Page is cool, thanks for the link.
That other link didn't work, but I found the song on YouTube -great remix.
Oh, I just love these old, jazzy and cool songs. Used to sing them a lot once upon a time.
Please, listen to John Grant's Where Dreams Go To Die, I'm sure you like it.
SusuPetal:
I thought you might like those two. I'll have to look for John Grant but, first, I've got Broken Note cued up with "Tokyo Dub (Remix)" on repeat. Um, you wouldn't care for it, all drums, bass and breaks. :)
