In its short-sightedness, blogger has turned its back on those of us stuck with old operating systems and I'm forced to find a new blog host. This place will continue as another archive for a large body of my work. As many of you know, my primary medium and working method is digital collage composed of manipulated photographs often combined with digital drawing & generative images. In another life I was an Arts & Culture consultant specializing in revitalization planning through creative public art projects and programs with Economic & Community Development Departments of towns, villages and cities. Aurora borealis is sometimes seen in the south of Finland too, not only in Lapland. They say that you can hear the northern lights, they fill the air with quiet but hear able hum. I've never heard them, and seen them only from a distance.
I have only seen these lights once on a plane going back to NY with Marie.
We had just attended the funeral of my beloved maternal gradmother whose first name is Aurora.

These fabulous lights are seen here but occasionally. The last time was in my 30's when I lived in a high rise apartment building ... it was quite a show. :)

One of my favorite poets... and the lights in the sky-- I have never seen anything like that-- amazing.

I have to admit taking some artistic license with the sky; but, you do get to see the Northern Lights where you are on occasion don't you?
