Thursday Challenge: Sky -

"Perryville Sky, January 2010"
digital photograph by Mick Mather
"... there is a privacy about it
which no other season gives you ...

in spring, summer and fall people sort of have
an open season on each other;
only in the winter, in the country,
can you have longer, quiet stretches when
you can savor belonging to yourself ..."

I prefer the open season skies.

Beautiful blue in your image.

Susu will NOT like this one! But that's just because of the SNOW!
MAke it yellow or red, and she'll think it's something else!

This is a great shot! I really love the quote too ... that's exactly how I feel about winter. :)

I manipulated the color for drama. It's much lighter than this in the original. :)

hpy:
That's not snow, Hélène, it's King Biscuit Flour. :|

Helena:
Some of us feel that way ... Susu and I much prefer springlike skies although I do enjoy looking at scenes like this. Of course, the day I took this it was below zero and with gusting winds, well, my hands were freezing in less than a minute and I kept having to warm my hands between shots ... talk about suffering for our art.

Mary Stebbins Taitt:
The lonesomeness is what drew me from the safety and warmth of the house.

I could happily wander here. Perfect pairing of image and words Mick!

On this day, wandering would have been brutal. On relatively warm days with this sort of sky, well, I'd be a'wandering with you.
