In its short-sightedness, blogger has turned its back on those of us stuck with old operating systems and I'm forced to find a new blog host. You will now find MickMathersARTblog at Blog.com - use the direct link found in the masthead and remember to update your bookmarks. This place will continue as another archive for a large body of my work. As many of you know, my primary medium and working method is digital collage composed of manipulated photographs often combined with digital drawing & generative images. Netlabels, bands and musicians can view samples of my CD Cover Art at Mick Mather Illustration located on Tumblr. In another life I was an Arts & Culture consultant specializing in revitalization planning through creative public art projects and programs with Economic & Community Development Departments of towns, villages and cities. In these hard financial times this work is more important than ever and I still accept consultancy inquiries. You can contact me by email at: mickmather@yahoo.com

We are also some day prehistoric...
Oh my!! I remember getting my first transistor radio when I was around 9. Eeks, listening to the Beatles and Herman's Hermits ;)
Thanks a lot for bringing up my age Mick!!
SusuPetal:
That's true ... send me a recent photo of you please so I can document we aging dinosaurs properly!
studio lolo:
Walkmans and cell phones didn't have a thing on us, did they Laurel? :D
Well now that is a unique take on the subject (and all too true!). I like very much the way this all works together. The neutral color palette is excellent as is the texture in the background. Nicely done Mick!
Collage Cottage:
Thank you, Shani. I was thinking about the theme for a long time when it hit me: wouldn't an old vacuum tube and a 1950's transistor be considered prehistoric by todays computer nerds? :)
old tubes are worth a fortune
for me it's a bird in a helmet a bit rusty and a bit robotlike but still a bird for me bye
John M. Mora:
I bet they are, John. Even 25 years ago when I tried to replace tubes in my old guitar amplifier, finding them was a challenge.
Pásztohy Lili:
In direct opposition to what John just said: cheap! cheap! :D
