Last exit to Brooklyn -

"Nowhere Man"
digital collage by Mick Mather
"... a simple looking man he was,
aimless, excepting a beeline for an exit
to the anonymous, ordinary street went he,
without a glance in any direction,
and disappeared ..."

Walk, Don't Walk -

"The Black Skirt"
digital collage by Mick Mather
There's always something interesting to me about street scenes and tonight's post is a testament to that. Working with ordinary images of people going about their humdrum, daily routine is always a challenge and always interesting to me. In the case of tonight's post I headed for a total obstruction of the original image before passing them through a wide variety of plug-ins and filters. As I began to build layers, further manipulating each of them, things went from bad to worse and back again. Anyway, here we have it, a woman in a crosswalk wearing a basic, black skirt.

Thursday Challenge: Circle -

"Traffic Circle"
digital collage by Mick Mather
A long, long week appears to be coming to a close with everything that needed attention getting its fair share. I suppose the theme at Thursday Challenge this week, circle, is more than appropriate since I feel like I've been going 'round and 'round in them. Anyway, I'm dog tired, believe that...I'm on a hunt for my favorite pillow, then to the couch!

Take that one, last step -

"Sandra Out Walking"
digital collage by Mick Mather
Last night I was getting tired, eyes drooping and I was thinking about going to bed. I thought to myself, "Just one more." All of a sudden an image that I was toying with for the fun of it started to click for me. Uh oh, wide awake now, filter this, layer that, turn it and burn it. Hmmm, tweak that old filter I rarely us. It won't work and you can go to bed. What? It looks fine...almost there, diffuse, one more layer, repaint that spot, leave that one go. Yup, this is where it took me and I couldn't be more pleased.
