Illustration Friday: Strong -
digitally manipulated fractal flame & digital drawing by Mick Mather
What is the Id?
Dr. Edward Morbius:
Id, Id, Id, Id, Id! It's a... It's an obsolete term. I'm afraid once used to describe the elementary basis of the subconscious mind.

Cobwebs of my mind! You've illustrated them perfectly.
Fantastic sense of motion and panic.
this is a really beautiful piece, the textures and lines are incredible
Oh this is special! I hope there's more of that up your sleeve Mick!
SusuPetal:
You do have great cobwebs, Susu. :)
Connie:
My heart was in my mouth the whole way! :D
Amy C:
Thank you, AC!
Lisa Sarsfield:
Every once in a while I haul a particularly striking fractal into the digital drawing software. It's not often successful but you can be sure that I'll keep trying and offer up more, more, more! :)
Mick, oh Mick I've been so absent!
The character in the middle scares me a little, but then everything has scared me since this move.
I love the energy of this (even though it scares me a wee bit!)
studio lolo:
Laurel, you're certainly forgiven for any absence. As far as the scary image, I wonder if you've ever seen that part of the movie, "Forbidden Planet", when the monster appears? It happens briefly, in an outline of snaking electric tendrils and sparks as it attempts to breach the security fence. Now, that was scary!
It dances like king midas on a good day.
Sensual and optomistic.
Great post, super ego.
John:
The moral of this fabulous tale has stuck with me all these many years. Even with infinite power at our fingertips, we are never safe from destruction, by ourselves, from within.
Really a mesmerising sense of motion.
