Struttin' down the boulevard -

"The Fabulous Red Cloak"
digital collage by Mick Mather
I've been in one of my "playing around" modes ... trying new filters, doing different things with old filters, employing old methods and turning said old skool ways upside down. Today's post is one result of this annual spring renewal and sudden flurries of activity. Sorry to say, I must dash, later dudes!

The remedialist -

"Girl at A Reflecting Pool"
digital collage by Mick Mather
I went a long way back through the files the other day and was surprised by the vast changes in what I consider my professional work. Without getting long winded in that regard, let me just say that while the tools at hand and styles change, the working method is about the same. Getting back to old skool techniques is a comfort and when the results are as satisfying as it happens to be for me in today's post, it's pure joy.

Trying again -

"The Girls at the Office"
digital collage by Mick Mather
I've been working on this piece for a few weeks, hitting a dead end each time. Last night I decided to go back a few layers and run it through an old filter that I use sparingly these days. Well, that didn't work very well either, even after posting it, so I've taken that one down and went back to one of the new filters. Better this time, I think. I'll put the other one that sat here much of the late afternoon and evening at No Matter What Shape - The Archive.
