"Selfportrait of the Artist Admiring 'Celebration' on Hockney's Birthday"digital collage by Mick Mather
- "Celebration", 1991, diptych by David Hockney - This week's Thursday Challenge theme is celebration. Since today is David Hockney's birthday I thought about doing another piece for The Selfportrait Series that would include his diptych titled "Celebration". Alright then, let's all have a piece of cake and go sit by the pool, shall we? There's nothing quite like a good tribute. :)
Love the pixelation technique. Very creative use of photography!

Thanks very much, you two! For a few years in my early days of photo-manipulation, I always started with a relatively small photographic image, opened it up large and then ran it all through a variety of software programs in the secret visual laboratory.

Thank you, sir! Ma! Where's my speedo?!! :D
Hi, nice to meet you! I like the contrast in this pic. You are masculine, but the background is quite feminine. You dare to show your soft side. :)
Elegia:
Yes, Elegia, I'm just a big, soft and lovable huggy bear! :)
I love your self-portrait series! SUPER!

This series has always been a favorite of mine as well. There's nothing quite so liberating as having opportunities to lampoon oneself.
