"Little Things"
words & music by Bobby Goldsboro
Little things that you do
Make me glad I'm in love with you
Little things that you say
Make me glad that I feel this way
The way you smile, the way you hold my hand
And when I'm down you always understand
You know I love those little things in my ear
That you say when there's no one near
Little things that you do
Let me know that your love is true
When we walk you like to hold my hand
And when we talk you tell me I'm your man
You know I love those little things that I hear
The little things you whisper in my ear
I know there ain't nobody else like you
No one could do the little things you do

It's one of those wonderful American Pop Songs that was able to break through the British Invasion of the mid-1960's. Reaching it's highest Billboard chart position of #13 in 1965, it was an infectious, beat driven mix of blues, rock and pop that stood eye to eye with most of the contemporary music of the day. Bobby Goldsboro was a terrific songwriter who played a key role in defining the sound & style of Roy Orbison's band where he was the lead guitarist before going out on his own.
Thanks for the extra comment on the Thursday Challenge piece. It was great fun to work on. :)
Here's to you, Mick!
Very intensive figure. I think she is listening and watching something.
I found Little Things in Youtube! I must say (sorry!) I didn't like it very much - In fact at all :D
(But I do like The Beatles!)
But I like the song I don't Know You Anymore (Bobby Goldsboro: You might know his music...) ;DD
susupetal:
WOW! You went to all that trouble just for me? I was too lazy to look for the song myself and I say "Thank You" - with a blush! :)

Sometimes, songs like Little Things take a while to sink in. Other times, as in this case, it's not something you like at all. That's why we have so many different kinds of music I suppose. As we used to say over here, "Different Strokes for Different Folks". :D
I really like the pieces you create - such as this one - that make me feel like I'm looking back through time. This is almost like seeing a memory in someone's head, if that makes any sense. The effects give it that far away, but very real, feeling. I may be way off, but the way I read her expression makes me feel like the lyrics are ironic. If I'm wrong... it must be this nasty cold that's muddling my interpretive abilities! Either way - straightforward or ironically - this piece works well:>

I like the way you express it: like seeing a memory in someone's head. I'm always delighted when thinking about art works in this way. That said, it isn't really up to me to tell you if it's irony or something straightforward ... or is it? :)
just great Mick
griesmail:
Thanks, Trijnie. I bet this song could about Tommy! :D
