Moody Monday: Ugly -

"The Grotesque Hand Puppet"
$50 Unframed - LUCAS GALLERY

digitally manipulated photograph by Mick Mather
This week's theme at Moody Monday? Ugly is the word ... and, as I turned this over in my mind, I remember shooting a series of images of some old toys that I've kept in a small, wooden box for almost 30 years now! Tonight's image is one and this post from last month is another. Enjoy!

Yes, it is quite ugly. Somehow it's a bit cute too. I'm just wondering here whatta toys you had, huh! I'm sure you had very interesting childhood. ;)

I like this very much, really!

I knew that you, in particular, would enjoy this one. Growing up, we didn't have a lot of money so there weren't many toys. We made things, played board games, jigsaw puzzles, drawing, painting & coloring and I read books, a LOT of books! Although I did figure out a way to con my little brother out of most of the cereal box prizes. :D

LOL - yes, as we say over here: "He's so homely he's cute!"

Your words remind me of a terric movie, "Marty", starring Ernest Borgnine. It was about a very homely man who happened to be the sweetest individual a girl might hope to meet - kind, patient, loyal and ... lonely.
