I knew that you, in particular, would enjoy this one. Growing up, we didn't have a lot of money so there weren't many toys. We made things, played board games, jigsaw puzzles, drawing, painting & coloring and I read books, a LOT of books! Although I did figure out a way to con my little brother out of most of the cereal box prizes. :D

Your words remind me of a terric movie, "Marty", starring Ernest Borgnine. It was about a very homely man who happened to be the sweetest individual a girl might hope to meet - kind, patient, loyal and ... lonely.
