"Save"digital collage by Mick Mather It's the end of a rather long week and I have to say that I was less than completely inspired by this week's theme at Illustration Friday, which is save. I thought about doing a scanner-collage of some old receipts and in the process of doing just that discovered that I might be able to trade these in for some FREE ice cream! So, into the mix went something obvious along with a layer here and a plug-in filter tweak there. Now, I'm too pooped to even take that short trip to the fridge to get some of that delicious looking ice cream ... (sigh).Labels: Art Everyday by Mick Mather, digital collage, free, ice cream, Illustration Friday, receipt, save

Too tired for ice cream??? That's utterly pathetic. You're not even trying.
I like you image a lot, it has a very cool dynamic to it.

Hey, save a bite of that for me, would ya Mick?
I was stumped on the theme too. I wanted to do something "rich and moving" this week but oh well!
Hi Mick, I am glad to be visiting you again. I've actually been contemplating doing scans of piles (a scanner collage of that's what they are called!) so I am pleased to see this one. I especially like receipts and lists..a bit of a peak into your nest! The icecream looks good too! Really nice interputation on save. I don't think outside the square enough sometimes!

LMAO - well, I should also point out that it was 11:00pm and ice cream doesn't sit well with me before bedtime anymore. Even so, I'll remember to try harder next time! :D
studio lolo:
Save a bite for you, Laurel? Sorry, every man for himself! :D
lisa sarsfield:
It's always my pleasure to see you whenever you have a chance to drop by, Lisa. One extra note on the process of piling things on the scanner is remembering to work bottom to top and get those parts of the pile that will be visible when scanned to show the elements you're interested in. Another way, just tossing things on without thinking about it, can also be productive. In the end it's still a digital collage, but describing it thus speaks a volume about the process in two simple words.
Great concept...nicely done!
I scream
you scream
we scream
for ice cream.
Yes, plz.
marci senders:
Thank you so much! I went to your place and found some rabbits that I like. :)
susupetal:
That's right! Keep screaming, Susu. I might save a nice, big bite for you; then again, I might not! :D
Hah! I did put you in a foody mood didn't I! Ah, one of life's little pleasures...ice cream. EXCELLENT collage Mick! I really like this one. Course it could be because I like the crunchy pops best. Nah, seriously, I really just like it. Well done toi! Bravo!
shani thomas:
Yes, you really did! I bet that's what pushed me onward, to dessert. I do have a reversal mechanism, however, today I ate TV Dinners! :D
Thanks for the tip Mick! It's often the obvious that is overlooked. I am going to try and find time to dig the scanner out tomorrow and give it a go!
lisa sarsfield:
I encourage you to get to the digging and give it a try. More than one try come to that. It can be very rewarding.
I want FREE ice cream too!
elegia:
I think I hear the ding ding ding of the little white truck now! :D
What a clever idea... and it looks great! Now get up and have some ice cream!
carla:
LMAO - getting up, at my age, is harder to do all the time! If ice cream doesn't do it, well, there's but a dim hope left. :D
