Illustration Friday: Strings -

"Framework II - Strings"
manipulated digital photograph by Mick Mather
Again I have to air one major complaint with Illustration Friday - the fact that they don't give themes a week in advance. This week, for example, I have a terrific piece tailor made for it, but, I already used it, just two days ago! Oh well, I suppose if it were different, there would be other issues and in either event it has caused me to rework one of the earlier versions. I can only imagine the lonely spider that created this masterpiece toiling away under a new moon, hoping for a catch, as the insects of the night fly into the unseen strings!

It is a wonderful style. I love th evisual effect of it.

I agree that it would be great to know what the prompt is a week ahead of time. I belong to another group that does that and it great to have time to give it some thought.

Thanks a big ol' bunch, 'Nessa! Getting the color took the longest, but I'm happy with it and pleased that you like it too! :)

Thanks so much, Teri. This piece also makes me feel like I'm looking at an old, derelict sailing ship. Yeah, like a ghost ship! :D

Great idea for "strings." I really like the texture on this piece.

Thanks so much and, if you scrolled down to see the other version posted on Wednesday, you'll notice quite a difference in the two ... most of which is due to the texture that resulted from layering and manipulating.

susupetal:
Poor, Susu! ... but, stuck as in you don't have any ideas for the theme or that you've been out flying at night again? :D

I tried to fly last night, but it was too wet and my wings grew too heavy.
The theme for IF I succeeded doing :)

It's always a good day when I can deconstruct an image and rework it into something else completely. I'm glad you enjoyed it too. :)

Mick, seeing as this is a manipulated photo, doesn't that make this a web of deceit?
:D
