Order out of chaos -

"Repetition of Form"
digital collage by Mick Mather
There's not a lot behind this post beyond simple variation and repetition of form. Sometimes, it's good to reengage with basic shapes, repeated patterns and simple compositional exercises. Here I've deconstructed the image and put it back together using heavily manipulated layers. Go forth and do likewise.

I've never quite understood about those layers.

LOL ... always there's something terrifying to see I think! :)

Well, the best analogy I can offer is a double exposure in photography. The one difference is that I can control certain effects and the transparency factor of each added, or layered, manipulation as I stack them up.

This is fab!!! How did you do it? Could you ever replicate something like this, or is it perchance alchemy? You rock!

Thanks for the oh-so-sixties applause! I can replicate this to a degree; but, unless I write down the setting integers for literally dozens of sliders, there's either a little or a lot of surprise as I fiddle with the manipulation tools. :)
