Off the map -

"Checking Her Compass"
digital collage by Mick Mather
What to do when you find that you've lost the path? Check your compass! I've been working away on the walking art documentations, scanning old photographs of previous walks and feeling a bit bogged down for a few days. So, checking my own compass, I've gone back to some old methods of working that include losing the path there as well. Just having fun you see, for a little while.

Sometimes it takes to get lost before one finds the way.

That's very true. I'm off the beaten track myself, trying to maneuver my way back to something more like a paved road ... maybe. :)

I like your idea of putting a woman on the map.

Thank you Hèléne. I have to admit that I was thinking of Susu's words in a recent post while I was working on this piece.

This is great, a bit like a vintage newspaper only digital. It's as though she's about to walk right out of that square!

That's right, Lisa. Out of the square, out of my hair, straight 'round the corner and never came back!
