In space, no one can hear you scream -

"Aliens Beneath Your Holiday Wrapping"
$50 Unframed - LUCAS GALLERY

digital collage by Mick Mather
As some of you may know, the opening title for today's post is one of the most perfectly crafted, single-sentence advertising slogans for a film that I can recall. That movie, Alien, was also one of the most effective horror films ever made. Many people have said, and I agree, that this is due to the fact that you never get a really good look at the Alien, leaving your mind to fill in the gaps. Yeah! So, in that vein, we don't really get a good look at the Aliens in this piece either ... but, it's plain to see that a nest of those frightful li'l babies are squirming and circling, looking for a way out to come and get ... YOU! :O

Nice fabric. Silk from Thailand?

Very inspirating for the mind.

P.S. Sigourney Weaver would look good in that.

Well, as I say in the title of the piece, it's supposed to be wrapping paper. We seldom offer gifts wrapped in fabric - although why we don't is a mystery to me.
Yes, Sigourney would look good in that! She'd even look good out of that ... or in almost anything really. :)

That's the other thing I had to consider, that this looks as much like a glass piece as a fibre piece. If it's slumped, does that mean I didn't do it right, Trijnie? :)

Whatta colours! This is glorious, Mick. Like satin under my skin.

And yes, no one can hear you: But maybe they can feel you...

Thank you and thank you again! I'm afraid to look underneath. Those xenomorphs were quite messy and creepy to look at - or to touch! :D

:O no Mick, its a word used by glass-people. When glass is hot (liquid) the gravity is going to work
