Illustration Friday: Neighbor -

"Nosey Neighbor"
pen & ink drawing by Mick Mather
Long week, long conference and I have a headache. For this week's theme of neighbor at Illustration Friday, I went to some old sketchbooks - and I do mean O-L-D - to retrieve this image. I suppose it's self explanatory in some fashion. The details I leave to each of you and your creative imaginations! :D

I like going over my old stuff and finding another way to give it some life.... This is an interesting way to present your point of view... ...

Thanks so much. Reflection - in this case reviewing ones old portfolio of work, sketchbooks, etc. - is always illuminating for me and I always recommend this when consulting with artists. We always seem to learn so much more by doing things wrong or badly than if we were successful right out of the gate.
Funny that you bring this up, because I did it again with an old tempera-on-paper sketch...just yesterday in fact (May 29th post).

Thanks so much.
I had hoped that the angled blinds and the opposing angle of the car in this drawing would show some tension and a little movement...I was never sure how successful that tactic was, so, again let me say thanks for mentioning it.
By the way, I liked the right-handed drawing posted over at your place. It seems looser than the other - surprising, since the opposite is more often the case. Anyway, both drawings were wonderful.
