In its short-sightedness, blogger has turned its back on those of us stuck with old operating systems and I'm forced to find a new blog host. You will now find MickMathersARTblog at Blog.com - use the direct link found in the masthead and remember to update your bookmarks. This place will continue as another archive for a large body of my work. As many of you know, my primary medium and working method is digital collage composed of manipulated photographs often combined with digital drawing & generative images. Netlabels, bands and musicians can view samples of my CD Cover Art at Mick Mather Illustration located on Tumblr. In another life I was an Arts & Culture consultant specializing in revitalization planning through creative public art projects and programs with Economic & Community Development Departments of towns, villages and cities. Thanks, Sarah! Actually, this is one of my very, very, very short stories. So short that it met the limit of allowed words - 25 or less - and has been submitted to Espresso Stories. Now, we'll have to wait and see if it's accepted.
Lovely work. You wrote that ? Very cool, I was going to google it because it seemed so familiar. I would have guessed John LeCarre or Nabokov, or possibly Cornell Woolrich. Maybe Joseph Conrad.

Is it based on a photo? and if so, of where? It has a very Euro feel to it I like.

The photo is post-WW II - circa 1947 - of a UK location known as hangdog alley and a playful, satirical continuation of the human subjects equally hangdog expression and posture.
This is beautiful, somehow peaceful too and not very scary at all.
