This week's theme at Thursday Challenge is light. I could swear that I've used this image or a variation of it before but I can't seem to locate where or when. Anyway, it fits rather well here, don't you think?
When I was in photography school, (many years ago) I learned that sensitivity to light and learning to see how light plays on a given subject is key. This is an excellent example.
I don't always have time to comment, but I really enjoy seeing your posts.
Once we get past the holidays and things settle down I will give you a guest artist feature on TIMEFORFRIDA. Good Stuff!
K.V. Abbott: Thanks for lurking and for this comment, Kevin. Yes, after the holidays sounds right. Is there anything I need to do?
hpy: I have a sneaking suspicion that I worked on it with expectations of using it then changed my mind. Either way, it would have been within your tenure here, Hélène, so you're probably correct.
SusuPetal: I'm always excited to know that I can bring even a sliver of light into your world this time of year. Has the sun gone for good yet? When does it come back?
Lisa Sarsfield: I'm glad that this piece has struck a chord in you and so many of the others commenting here. I like the way you say it in regards to a composed candidness. :)
In its short-sightedness, blogger has turned its back on those of us stuck with old operating systems and I'm forced to find a new blog host. You will now find MickMathersARTblog at Blog.com - use the direct link found in the masthead and remember to update your bookmarks.
This place will continue as another archive for a large body of my work. As many of you know, my primary medium and working method is digital collage composed of manipulated photographs often combined with digital drawing & generative images.
Netlabels, bands and musicians can view samples of my CD Cover Art at Mick Mather Illustration located on Tumblr.
In another life I was an Arts & Culture consultant specializing in revitalization planning through creative public art projects and programs with Economic & Community Development Departments of towns, villages and cities. In these hard financial times this work is more important than ever and I still accept consultancy inquiries. You can contact me by email at: mickmather@yahoo.com

I haven't seen it before, so maybe you haven't used it. Or it's an old one you showed before I started visiting your art blog.
This is so beautiful, Mick. Let there be light. Yes, please!

Yep it does, it looks very nice indeed!
Shani:
Thank you, Shani! :)
Sometimes simple is beautiful. This is. I love this!
Elegia:
I feel the same way and simplicity is one of the things I always attempt to look for. Even if I don't always succeed.
