Illustration Friday: Stitch -

"Not a Stitch"
digital collage by Mick Mather
Today was a nice reward for another grueling week at the office, evidently, in more ways than one! The theme at Illustration Friday this week is stitch and I believe this post is self-explanatory. A good thing, too since I'm off to see my favorite band, The Gonstermachers. So, with a stiff belt of 12-year old Jamieson's Irish Whiskey on my mind, I bid you adieu ... we'll chat again later. :)

LMAO @ "stitch and bitch! By the way, Laurel, never let it be said that I didn't stoop to the lowest common denominator with this one! :D

Thanks, Susu ... and, yes! Jamieson was with me last night at another one of The Gonstermachers mind bending shows! To hear 4 more songs visit their MySpace page. Yeah, now would be good, I'll go get Jamieson. :D

I listened to the band, they sounded great. A little blues, a litte rhythm, a little ethnic drums(?). Good combination.

Now I could take a night cap, it's almost midnight here in Finland, Sunday about to start, and I've been awarded with a trophy: "The Best Blog of 2007" for my main blog in Finnish. This came as a shock, because I had cursed such competitions in my blog (yes, out loud) and now I won. Shit.

Well, I had to take this as a compliment from my readers, who wanted to appreciate my writing. Luckily I didn't win alone, I shared the trophy with an professor of many scinces or such(I've never read him...).

But make the Jamieson a stiff one, will you:)

Whether it be competitions, complaints, rants or a stiff belt - one should always be careful what you wish for! I say congratulations to you as well and your readers must certainly know something about what they like. That said, such honors shouldn't stand in the way of doing the work everyday and that good work is what drives most of us, I think. A toast to you Susu, your vision, creativity and work ethic tell me that you've surely earned it.

Thanks so much for stopping in, Velvet. Although, you ought to know that there's no lock on the door. The fridge has a bit of cheese and some stale bread inside and the Irish Whiskey is right on the coffee table there. Too strong you say? It's fine with me if you splash a little bit over ice, then sip it. :)

I haven't had a lot of time to peek about so I'm not sure if anyone else went down this road. That said, I'm glad I went in this direction too! :D

LOL ... it's delightful the different things everyone brought to this piece. I see perky, you see cold and not happy about it. I suppose we'll have to ask her. :D
